Slovakia Flag

The explanation for the symbols of the Slovak Flag

The flag of Slovakia was adopted on 3 September 1992. It is composed of three horizontal stripes white - blue - red. These colors are the panslave colors, used by many countries in Eastern Europe, such as Serbia or +Russia. These colors, which emphasize the common origin of the people wearing it, symbolize the people (red), the nobility (white) and the bourgeoisie (blue). A little shifted to the left, the national shield : a double cross on three hills. They are symbols of the kingdom of Upper Hungary, which the Slovak people was mainly from in the fourteenth century.
