Nepal Flag

The explanation for the symbols of the Nepali Flag

The flag of Nepal was adopted on 16 December 1962. It is the only flag in the world that does not have a rectangular shape. Its height is greater than its width, which also distinguishes it. The symbols used here are very strong, since they both refer to the particular geography of the country, but also its religions. The triangles are indeed the representation of the Himalayas, but also Hinduism and Buddhism. The moon and the sun, white, evoke the royal families and those who run the central government.
